ios 10 playlist shuffle cutting off end of songs?

After loading a number of songs organized in playlists, I am having an issue where when I shuffle a playlist, it cuts off the ends of songs. Observations and testing so far lead me to believe this is solely related to shuffling playlists. I also am seeing that the song display on lock screen is not displaying correctly when shuffling a playlist. A song will end, the next will start, but what is showing on the screen is the previous song. For anywhere from 30-45 seconds. Then the next song does show up on the screen, and the progress bar is already at the "right" place.

Played album start to finish - no issues
Played same album on shuffle - no issues
Played Playlist containing same album start to finish - no issues
Played same Playlist on shuffle - cuts of songs, lock screen messed up, etc.

Same tests performed loading songs and playlist from iTunes, then just songs from iTunes and building the playlist on my phone.

I have this problem when using Apple TV. The songs affected play fine with iTunes straight from the iMac but when I access them through Apple TV they cut off about 10 seconds before the end of the track with the same delay in changing title etc as described elsewhere here. It happens only with one or two tracks but it is annoying. It happens even when I select those same individual songs themselves and not just when using shuffle. It must be something in the settings of those songs though nothing in the info boxes suggests there is any different setting for them. I also suspect that the probem arises when a song has been selected for shuffle but somehow retains a "partial" shuffle setting with that same song when direct selection is used. But only through Apple TV for me!!! Spooky!!!

I don't have the 10.0 version on my iPod touch and mine is still doing that as well. I don't know what happened it was working great for a long time and now it's not working and cutting off the last minute of more than half of the 890 songs I have on my iPod. It's getting old real quick

I Just started having this problem after I got a new windows laptop, Windows 10. From an XP (yes, it was ancient) laptop. Started having this problem after, although not sure that was the cause. I have the exact same issue as the very first post in this thread. The upgarade to IOS 10.3 on my iPod touch has not fixed the issue.

I have one added piece of info. When the shuffle songs was being used, and the song's Sound stopped around 4 minutes (the song clock kept running), I stopped it, reversed to the prior song, then forwarded back to the affected song. Still had the issue. But, when I go directly to the song in the album/artist/song list and play directly, it plays fine.

Annoying. Hoping for a solution.

Have you figured out a solution for this? Is Apple working on this?

I really dislike iOS 10. It's taken me a week just to make my downloaded music useable again.

No joy yet. This is one of a handful of things bugging me about 10 - clearing reminders in Notification Center on anything that doesn't have 3D touch is another PITA.

Thanks for the quick response. Do you know if we are the only two people in the world having this problem?

I can't believe this hasn't frustrated a lot more people.

Also, do you know if Apple is working on a response?

This will be the last time I update to a new operating system without waiting several months.

There was a thread with a few participants on Reddit in /r/ios. I actually found that first, then copy-pasted the testing sequence from there after I tried it.

I don't believe that Apple has anyone monitoring these support communities, and I have not actually filed a bug report - although I should.

I updated because one of my apps threw up the "Requires IOS 10" message when trying to update, so I pushed the button.

Doh!

I don't even know what a bug report is. But if it is something that might prompt Apple to resolve this issue, please file the report. This issue makes listening to my playlists not nearly as much fun.

Same problem here!

My iPhone 6S has some additional issues when shuffling a playlist:

- Cutting the end of songs

- Album cover doesn't change to the next song (sometimes).

- When using fast forward or backward, player stops playing and does not go to the next song.

What I tried with no success:

- Kill & restart Music App

- Playing over bluetooth or Airplay

- Restore iPhone

- Delete all the music & playlists on the phone and ad them again

- Delete all the music & playlists via iTunes sync and ad them again

I'm quite certain that the iOS 10 Music App produces that errors!

Hoping to see a fix soon. It's very annoying if every song get's cut or the player just stops!

I've got the same problem. However, I've noticed that if I replay the song three times the problem goes away. I'd still like to see this fixed, though...there are some songs that once in a 4 hour period is enough for me.

I share all your pain. Same problem here, shuffle function on certain playlists causes some songs (usually songs longer than 4 minutes) to cut off the end. I have tried reconstructing new playlists but get the same problem. Also tried restoring the iPad and, again, same problem.
